The Bank South Pacific Financial Group (BSP) has named Paul Black as the new general manager for its Pacific market operations.
Mr. Black brings over 35 years of experience in retail and corporate banking. Before his tenure at BSP Group, which began in 2011, he worked for more than 22 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, occupying various senior leadership positions.
Since 2015, he has served as the deputy general manager of corporate banking and has been instrumental in supporting the Pacific markets, leading teams in Vanuatu and the Cook Islands in recent years. BSP highlighted his expertise in corporate lending, credit risk management, and negotiation, along with his strong leadership skills.
Additionally, Mr. Black is a member of FINSA and is currently pursuing an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.
BSP Group CEO Mark Robinson praised Mr. Black’s leadership experience and his deep understanding of the South Pacific region where the bank operates.
Mr. Black’s appointment was part of a series of executive leadership changes announced on Wednesday on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the Port Moresby Exchange (PNGX), aimed at advancing the bank’s modernization and growth strategy.
