BSP Financial Group Limited has announced the appointment of Glen Skarott as its new Group Chief Financial Officer. With an extensive career spanning over 25 years in global banking, Skarott brings a wealth of experience to the role, having most recently served as Executive Director and Global Head of Finance at Macquarie Group, where he was responsible for managing financial operations across 28 global locations with a team of over 1,000 people.
Mark Robinson, CEO of BSP Group, expressed confidence in Skarott’s abilities, highlighting his expertise in corporate governance, transformation leadership, and data analytics. Robinson remarked that Skarott’s skill set would significantly contribute to the bank’s modernization and growth agenda. Skarott’s track record also includes senior finance positions with Credit Suisse and Bear Stearns in London, and he began his career as a chartered accountant with PwC in Cairns, Australia.
In a statement, Skarott expressed his enthusiasm about his new position, stating, “I look forward to collaborating with a highly talented team to drive growth, enhance financial sustainability, and make a positive impact in the lives of our customers and stakeholders.” He succeeds Maryann Lameko-Vaai, who will take on the newly created role of Group Chief Auditor, further strengthening the group’s compliance and risk management framework.
Both appointments are set to take effect in the first quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approval. This strategic move aligns with BSP’s ongoing efforts to enhance its leadership team and operational capabilities, supporting its commitment to modernize and grow in the South Pacific market.
