BSP Financial Group Limited brought festive joy to over 25 children with cancer and their families through a special Christmas event organized in collaboration with WOWS Kids Fiji. The gathering, which took place last week, included a generous $20,000 donation from BSP to WOWS, reiterating the bank’s commitment to supporting the foundation’s essential work in assisting families coping with childhood cancer.

The day kicked off with a delightful breakfast and featured a screening of the popular movie “Moana 2,” followed by a hot lunch and the distribution of Christmas gifts, culminating in a family fun day. Kamini Mani, BSP’s relieving general manager retail, expressed her heartfelt happiness at witnessing the joy on the children’s faces, underscoring the significance of such community-focused events.

“This donation represents our lasting dedication to WOWS Kids Fiji,” said Mani. She emphasized the bank’s ongoing contributions to the organization since its inception, highlighting BSP’s commitment to supporting local communities and the people they serve.

During the event, Dr. Mahmood Khalid, a board member of WOWS Kids Fiji, spoke about the crucial role of holistic care in the fight against childhood cancer. He stated, “Cancer in children is curable, but it requires commitment and persistence. It involves support beyond just medical treatment; it’s about the community and collective efforts.” He also reassured attendees that the care available for children with cancer in Fiji is comparable to that in Australia and New Zealand.

Dr. Khalid acknowledged BSP’s long-standing partnership with WOWS Kids Fiji, explaining how it has significantly contributed to providing vital services like counseling, treatment access, and community outreach. He urged individuals and businesses to join in the effort to support these young warriors, stressing the power of collective action in making a positive impact.

This initiative showcases the importance of compassion and community involvement in addressing challenging health issues, offering hope and support to families during difficult times.

In summary, the collaborative effort between BSP Financial Group and WOWS Kids Fiji represents a heartening festive spirit while illustrating how collective community support can lead to meaningful change in the lives of children battling cancer.
