The Bank South Pacific Financial Group (BSP) has named Paul Black as the new general manager for its Pacific market operations.

Mr. Black brings over 35 years of experience in retail and corporate banking. Before joining BSP in 2011, he spent more than 22 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he held several senior leadership positions. Since 2015, he has served as the deputy general manager for corporate banking and has supported Pacific markets while leading teams in Vanuatu and the Cook Islands.

He possesses specialized skills in corporate lending, credit risk management, and negotiation, and is recognized as a strong leader. Additionally, Mr. Black is a member of FINSA and is currently pursuing his MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.

BSP Group CEO Mark Robinson commented on Mr. Black’s appointment, stating that he is an experienced leader familiar with the South Pacific region where the bank operates.

This appointment is part of broader executive leadership changes announced on Wednesday on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the Port Moresby Exchange (PNGX), which aim to bolster the bank’s modernization and growth initiatives.
