BSP Elevates Leadership: Meet the New GM for Pacific Operations!

Bank South Pacific Financial Group (BSP) has named Paul Black as the Group’s general manager for its operations in the Pacific market.

Mr. Black brings over 35 years of experience in retail and corporate banking. Before joining BSP in 2011, he spent more than 22 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he held several senior leadership positions. Since 2015, he has served as deputy general manager of corporate banking and has contributed to Pacific markets, leading teams in Vanuatu and the Cook Islands.

The group highlighted Mr. Black’s expertise in corporate lending, credit risk mitigation, and negotiation, as well as his strong leadership qualities. He is also a member of FINSA and is currently pursuing an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.

BSP Group CEO Mark Robinson expressed confidence in Mr. Black’s leadership, noting his familiarity with the South Pacific region. His appointment is part of a series of executive leadership changes reported on Wednesday, aimed at advancing the bank’s modernization and growth initiatives, according to announcements made on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the Port Moresby Exchange (PNGX).
