The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies have officially announced their squad for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season, aiming to build on last year’s impressive semi-final run. The club has successfully retained 30 players from the previous season, maintaining a strong mix of seasoned veterans and promising young talent.

The new squad features seven members of the Wallabies team, who recently achieved a thrilling victory against England at Twickenham. The players include Nick Frost, Rob Valetini, Noah Lolesio, Len Ikitau, Tom Wright, Alaalatoa, and James Slipper. Their contributions were vital during the match, with standout performances such as Wright’s seventh Test try and Lolesio’s 13 points scored.

In addition to the retaining players, there are six newcomers: two from the Melbourne Rebels—Tuaina Taii Tualima and David Feliuai—and four Academy graduates promoted from the Elite Development Squad: Kadin Pritchard, Shane Wilcox, Lachlan Hooper, and Tevita Alatini.

Head coach Stephen Larkham expressed his satisfaction with the squad’s composition and looks forward to the upcoming season. He emphasized the importance of continuity within the team, the potential impact of the new signings, and the consistent talent emerging from the Elite Development Squad.

The pre-season training kicked off with Tualima and Feliuai demonstrating their skills and readiness. Tualima, a versatile forward with solid experience, and Feliuai, known for his strong performances in recent seasons, are anticipated to add significant value to the team.

The transition of players from the Elite Development Squad to the main team is a testament to Brumbies’ successful player development program. Talented young players like Wilcox, Pritchard, Hooper, and Alatini are ready to make their mark in the main squad after impressive performances in their respective age groups.

The Brumbies will kick off their 2025 Super Rugby Pacific campaign against Fijian Drua in Suva on February 15, before returning home to face Western Force at the GIO Stadium on February 22.

Overall, the outlook for the Brumbies is positive, as they blend experienced players with emerging talent, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead. The emphasis on continuity and player development will likely yield positive results as they strive for success in 2025.
