Judah Saumaisue, a former number eight for the Fiji Under-20 and Wallabies Under-20 teams, is set to make his debut for the Brumbies as he is named on the bench for their Super Rugby Pre-Season match against the Waratahs this weekend. Having joined the Melbourne Rebels through the Elite Development System in 2023, Saumaisue is excited to step into high-level Southern Hemisphere rugby.

The Brumbies have also included newly signed players Feao Fotuaika, Tuaina Taii-Tualima, and David Feliuai in the starting lineup. Head Coach Stephen Larkham expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming match, noting the rigorous pre-season efforts made by the team. “To finally have a match on the horizon is exciting, especially against our oldest and biggest rivals,” Larkham remarked. He emphasized that even though this is a trial game, the team considers it an important opportunity to explore different combinations on the field.

The much-anticipated clash between the Waratahs and the Brumbies will take place on Saturday at Bowral Rugby Club, kicking off at 4 PM.

This match not only represents a pivotal moment for Saumaisue but also highlights the Brumbies’ commitment to integrating emerging talents into their squad. Fans can look forward to seeing how these new player combinations perform on the field, creating a sense of optimism for the Brumbies’ season ahead.
