The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies have officially announced their squad for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season, aiming to build on last year’s impressive semi-final run. A notable achievement is the retention of 30 players from the previous season, combining seasoned athletes with promising young talent.
This year’s lineup features seven Wallabies who played a pivotal role in their recent triumph over England, highlighting their competitive edge. These players include Nick Frost, Rob Valetini, Noah Lolesio, Len Ikitau, Tom Wright, Alaalatoa, and James Slipper. Their contributions were significant, with standout performances from Wright, Lolesio, and Valetini, who was honored with the prestigious John Eales Medal for two consecutive years.
In addition to the returning roster, the Brumbies have included six new members: versatile forward Tuaina Taii Tualima and center David Feliuai, both joining from the Melbourne Rebels, along with four Academy graduates—Kadin Pritchard, Shane Wilcox, Lachlan Hooper, and Tevita Alatini—from the Elite Development Squad.
Head coach Stephen Larkham expressed his satisfaction with the squad composition, emphasizing the importance of maintaining continuity while integrating fresh talent. He is particularly eager to see how the new players will enhance team dynamics and is excited about the potential of the young athletes stepping up to the first team.
Tualima and Feliuai joined pre-season training recently, both bringing valuable experience and athletic capability. Tualima’s versatility and strength as a ball carrier add depth, while Feliuai’s breakout last season has already drawn attention from the national team.
The pathway to success is evident with Academy graduates making their mark, showcasing a strong system of development within the club. Each of the youngsters has demonstrated exceptional talent, and their continued growth is a promising sign for the future.
The Brumbies are set to kick off their season on February 15, 2025, against Fijian Drua in Suva, before returning home to face the Western Force the following week. The club is poised for an exciting year, with hopes high for further achievements in the upcoming season.
This announcement reflects a commitment to building a competitive team capable of success while fostering emerging talent. The Brumbies’ approach to blending experience with youth sets a hopeful tone for their supporters as they eagerly anticipate the new season.
