The ACT Brumbies have officially announced their squad for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season, aiming to build on last year’s successful semi-final run. A key highlight of this announcement is the retention of 30 players from the previous season, showcasing a strong mix of experienced athletes and emerging talent.
The squad features seven players from the recent Wallabies team that achieved a thrilling victory over England, including notable contributors Nick Frost, Rob Valetini, Noah Lolesio, Len Ikitau, Tom Wright, Alaalatoa, and James Slipper. Their performances, particularly Valetini’s accomplishment of winning back-to-back John Eales Medals as 2024 Wallabies Player of the Year, add significant value to the Brumbies lineup.
In addition to maintaining a core group, the Brumbies will welcome six new members to the squad, comprising two signings from the Melbourne Rebels—versatile forward Tuaina Taii Tualima and centre David Feliuai—and four players from their Elite Development Squad: Kadin Pritchard, Shane Wilcox, Lachlan Hooper, and Tevita Alatini. This blend of seasoned professionals and fresh talent promises to enhance the team’s dynamic heading into the new season.
Head coach Stephen Larkham expressed his enthusiasm about the makeup of the squad and the positive atmosphere that has enveloped the club during pre-season training. He emphasized the importance of continuity and the exciting potential of the new recruits, highlighting the club’s commitment to developing young players from their Elite Development pathways.
The Brumbies will kick off their 2025 campaign against Fijian Drua in Suva on February 15, before returning for their first home match against the Western Force on February 22.
This announcement marks a positive step forward for the ACT Brumbies as they prepare to take on the upcoming season with a strong squad that balances proven players and promising newcomers, setting the tone for an exciting year ahead.
Overall, fans can look forward to an action-packed season, with many promising talents ready to showcase their skills on the Super Rugby stage.
