The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies officially announced their squad for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season, aiming to improve on their successful semi-final run from last year. The team has retained 30 players from last season, maintaining a strong mix of experience and promising young talent.

Notably, the squad includes seven Wallabies who recently triumphed over England with a score of 42-37 at Twickenham. These players—Nick Frost, Rob Valetini, Noah Lolesio, Len Ikitau, Tom Wright, Alaalatoa, and James Slipper—each played a vital role in the victory. Valetini further distinguished himself as the third player to win back-to-back John Eales Medals as 2024 Wallabies Player of the Year.

In addition to the retained players, the 2025 lineup sees the arrival of six new members: two new signings from the Melbourne Rebels—Tuaina Taii Tualima and David Feliuai—and four Academy grads promoted from the Elite Development Squad. Tualima’s versatility as a forward and Feliuai’s powerful ball-handling skills are expected to enhance the team’s depth significantly.

Head coach Stephen Larkham expressed his satisfaction with the squad’s composition, emphasizing the importance of continuity and the exciting opportunities that the new players and young talent will bring. The pre-season atmosphere has been described as enthusiastic and positive, setting the stage for a promising 2025 season.

Tualima, who has played 34 Super Rugby matches, joins the team with a reputation as a strong ball carrier. Feliuai has already made an impression in his debut season last year and earned a spot on the Wallabies roster. The young players moving up from the Elite Development Squad, including Pritchard, Wilcox, Hooper, and Alatini, have showcased impressive skills in previous competitions and are well-prepared for their advancement.

The first match of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific competition is scheduled against Fijian Drua in Suva, Fiji, on Saturday, February 15, with their home opener against Western Force a week later.

As the Brumbies embark on this new season, the blend of seasoned athletes and emerging stars offers a hopeful outlook for the team’s performance, inspiring fans and players alike.

This season promises to be a captivating journey for the Brumbies, united by the goal of achieving even greater success in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.
