Brothers Sebastian Singh and Ubayd Haider are embarking on a heartfelt mission to secure two international title belts for their father, Gyan Singh, who is currently facing health challenges. Their upcoming boxing match with South Pacific Boxing Promotion on October 26 has profound importance as they prepare to take on skilled opponents.
Known as “The Sniper,” Sebastian expressed his gratitude for the chance to share this momentous occasion with his brother Ubayd Haider, who was previously known as Nathan Singh. The siblings are poised to make history by competing for two prestigious titles simultaneously. Sebastian will fight Tonga’s Tonga Tongotongo for the IBO Asia Pacific Cruiserweight title, while Haider will face China’s Runqi Zhou for the IBO Asia Pacific Featherweight title.
The brothers aim to achieve more than personal success; their efforts are dedicated to their father, who has been the foundation of their boxing careers. Sebastian underscored the importance of competing for the revered IBO title, stressing the pride associated with such an accomplishment.
“That’s the mission, that’s the plan. For my brother and I, we’ve already made history by having two siblings from the same household fighting for two international titles on the same day,” Sebastian stated. “For us, that’s an achievement, but the bigger goal is to bring both belts back to my father, where it all began.”
The motivation behind their determination is deeply rooted in their love and appreciation for their father. “He has been experiencing health issues lately, and I know this will bring joy to his heart if he sees both his boys, his prodigies, bringing back something of this significance,” he added.
Sebastian reflected on his career, stating how he hopes to make his father proud, acknowledging his father’s extensive contribution to the sport over the past 40 years. “He has trained multiple champions, and for my brother and me, it would be a tremendous blessing to bring back such significant titles and present them in a special way to him.”
The event is set to take place at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
