Brother Partners with Pacific Brothers to Strengthen Fijian Market

Brother International (NZ) Ltd has announced Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its new official distributor for Fiji, marking a significant step after over 20 years of investment in the region. This collaboration aims to broaden Brother’s product offerings and boost growth, especially in the business-to-business sector, by leveraging Pacific Brothers’ understanding of the local market.

Pacific Brothers brings a wealth of experience in the printing industry, prioritizing customer service and support. One of their key initiatives is the provision of 24/7 support for users throughout Fiji, which has led to an 80% remote resolution rate for issues faced by customers. Additionally, the company has committed to investing 10% of its profits into initiatives aimed at alleviating child poverty and improving education.

In partnership with Brother, Pacific Brothers plans to develop a nationwide network of local Technical Service Providers to enhance customer experience with Brother products.

Graham Walshe, the former Executive Chairman of Brother International (NZ) Ltd, emphasized the company’s goal of financial sustainability through positive cash flow and retaining profits in Fiji and the Pacific. He expressed a commitment to governance, accountability, and active community involvement while ensuring that local partners profit from the business.

Walshe clarified that customers would purchase Brother products exclusively through local partners, not directly from Pacific Brothers, reinforcing that Fiji will act as a sales and support hub for the Pacific region, generating employment and becoming a center of excellence.

Sustainability remains a priority, with both Brother and Pacific Brothers expanding recycling initiatives and committing funds to local sustainability and corporate social responsibility projects.

Murray McCully, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade for New Zealand and now a director at Pacific Brothers Distributor, stated the importance of Fiji as a hub for the Pacific’s success. He highlighted the significance of a strong Pacific economy to New Zealand’s interests in the region.

McCully praised Brother for its practical engagement with environmental and social issues, noting that while many companies only discuss these topics, Brother actively invests in meaningful projects. He expressed admiration for Brother’s commitment to dedicating 10% of after-tax profits to support the most vulnerable in the community and commended the company’s leadership in environmental sustainability initiatives, including a four-year buyback program. He concluded with gratitude for the partnership and the relationships fostered in Fiji.
