Brother International (NZ) Ltd has appointed Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its new official distributor for Fiji, after more than two decades of investment in the region. This strategic appointment aims to broaden Brother’s product offerings and enhance growth within the business-to-business sector by collaborating with a distributor that is well-versed in the local market’s needs.
Pacific Brothers possesses significant experience in the printing industry, prioritizing customer service and support. The company will introduce 24/7 support for all users in Fiji, aiming for 80% of issues to be resolved remotely to ensure high customer satisfaction. Additionally, Pacific Brothers plans to allocate 10% of its profits to initiatives focused on alleviating child poverty and enhancing education.
Brother and Pacific Brothers are working together to create a nationwide network of local Technical Service Providers, ensuring that customers enjoy the best experience with Brother products.
In discussing the partnership, former Brother International (NZ) Ltd Executive Chairman Graham Walshe underscored the importance of financial sustainability and the desire to grow through positive cash flow and retained earnings in Fiji and the broader Pacific region. He emphasized a commitment to governance, accountability, and being an active part of the community, including fulfilling tax obligations and supporting local partners for mutual profit generation.
Walshe clarified that while Pacific Brothers will lead the distribution, customers will purchase Brother products through a network of over ten local partners rather than directly from Pacific Brothers itself. He highlighted Fiji’s role as a sales and support hub for the Pacific, emphasizing job creation and excellence in service.
Sustainability remains a critical focus, with both Brother and Pacific Brothers expanding recycling efforts and investing in local sustainability and corporate social responsibility projects.
Murray McCully, former New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and current Director of Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD, stated that Fiji must be the hub for the Pacific’s success. He acknowledged the significance of a strong Pacific economy to New Zealand’s geopolitical interests and praised Brother for its practical commitment to environmental and social responsibility. McCully particularly noted that while many companies discuss these issues, Brother is actively investing in meaningful initiatives to support the community, pledging that 10% of after-tax profits will be reinvested in local needs.
He concluded by highlighting Brother’s leadership in environmental sustainability and thanked them for fostering positive relationships in Fiji.
