Brother International (NZ) Ltd has named Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its official distributor in Fiji, marking a significant milestone after over two decades of investment in the Fijian market. This strategic partnership is designed to enhance Brother’s product offerings and stimulate growth in the business-to-business sector, leveraging Pacific Brothers’ deep understanding of the local market.
Pacific Brothers has a strong background in the print industry, with a commitment to customer service that includes the launch of 24/7 support for users throughout Fiji, focusing on satisfaction and achieving an 80% remote issue resolution rate. The company also intends to allocate 10 percent of its profits toward child poverty alleviation and education initiatives.
To further bolster the customer experience, Brother and Pacific Brothers are dedicated to creating a nationwide network of local Technical Service Providers. This initiative aims to ensure optimal user experiences with Brother products.
Graham Walshe, former Executive Chairman of Brother International (NZ) Ltd, emphasized the company’s focus on financial sustainability, aiming to cultivate positive cash flow and retained earnings in Fiji and the wider Pacific region. He outlined their commitment to governance, accountability, and contributing positively to the community by satisfying tax obligations.
Mr. Walshe explained that customers can purchase Brother products through a network of over ten local partners rather than directly from Pacific Brothers. This model, he noted, positions Fiji as a central hub for sales and support across the Pacific, creating job opportunities and establishing a center of excellence.
Sustainability efforts are also front and center in this collaboration, as Brother and Pacific Brothers are expanding recycling programs and investing in local sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Murray McCully, former New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and now a director at Pacific Brothers, underlined the importance of Fiji as a hub for a strong Pacific community. He acknowledged the critical role that a robust Pacific economy plays in New Zealand’s geopolitical relationships.
Mr. McCully expressed admiration for Brother’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility, noting that the company goes beyond rhetoric by investing in concrete projects. He highlighted that the firm intends to reinvest 10% of its after-tax profits back into serving the community’s most vulnerable populations.
He concluded by appreciating the partnership and the positive relationships established in Fiji, praising Brother as a reputable Japanese company dedicated to global citizenship and sustainable practices.
