Brother International Partners with Pacific Brothers to Boost Fijian Market

Brother International (NZ) Ltd has appointed Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its official distributor in Fiji, marking over two decades of investment in the Fijian market. This strategic partnership is designed to enhance Brother’s product offerings and stimulate growth, especially within the business-to-business sector, by collaborating with a distributor well-versed in local market needs.

Pacific Brothers brings significant expertise in the printing industry and prioritizes customer service. The company will introduce round-the-clock support for customers throughout Fiji, aiming for an 80% resolution rate for issues remotely. Additionally, it plans to allocate 10% of its profits to initiatives focused on alleviating child poverty and promoting education.

Both Brother and Pacific Brothers are committed to establishing a comprehensive network of local Technical Service Providers to enhance customer experience with Brother’s range of products.

Graham Walshe, former Executive Chairman of Brother International (NZ) Ltd, stated that the goal is to achieve financial sustainability by fostering positive cash flow and retaining earnings in Fiji and the Pacific region. He emphasized the company’s commitment to governance, accountability, and contributing to the community through fair taxation.

Walshe clarified that Pacific Brothers Distributor operates a channel model where local partners sell Brother products, highlighting that the company does not sell directly to end users. Fiji is set to become a key sales and support hub for the Pacific, generating jobs and fostering excellence.

Sustainability remains a priority, with both companies focusing on recycling initiatives and funding local community responsibility projects.

Murray McCully, former New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and now Director of Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD, stressed that a successful Pacific region requires Fiji to function as its hub. He pointed out the significance of a robust Pacific economy for New Zealand’s geopolitical interests and praised Brother’s commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability, noting its investment in meaningful projects aimed at community support.

McCully expressed admiration for Brother as a well-established Japanese company that embodies strong global values and a commitment to being an accountable international citizen, particularly with the decision to reinvest 10% of after-tax profits back into the community. He concluded by appreciating the partnership and the positive relationships fostered in Fiji.
