Brother International (NZ) Ltd has announced the appointment of Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its new official distributor for the Fijian market, building on over 20 years of investment in the region. This partnership is designed to enhance Brother’s product offerings and stimulate growth, particularly in the business-to-business sector, by collaborating with a distributor that understands the specific needs of the local market.
Pacific Brothers brings significant expertise in the printing industry and emphasizes strong customer service. The distributor will offer 24/7 support for all users across Fiji, aiming for high customer satisfaction with a reported 80% success rate in resolving issues remotely. Additionally, the company is committing 10% of its profits towards initiatives focused on alleviating child poverty and improving education.
Brother and Pacific Brothers are also working to create a nationwide network of local Technical Service Providers to ensure customers have a positive experience with Brother products.
Former Executive Chairman of Brother International (NZ) Ltd, Graham Walshe, stated that the company aims to grow sustainably through positive cash flow and reinvested earnings in Fiji and the Pacific Islands. He emphasized the importance of accountability and fair tax contribution, as well as the commitment to rewarding partners to help them generate profits alongside providing full support and services.
Walshe clarified that while Pacific Brothers is the distributor, there are over ten local partners from whom customers can purchase Brother products, ensuring they do not sell directly to end users.
He noted that Fiji will act as the central hub for sales and support across the Pacific, creating job opportunities and serving as a center of excellence. Sustainability remains a core focus for both Brother and Pacific Brothers, who are expanding recycling efforts and supporting local social responsibility projects.
Murray McCully, a director at Pacific Brothers and a former New Zealand Government Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, commented on the critical role Fiji plays in the success of the Pacific region. He stated that a strong Pacific economy is vital for New Zealand’s interests in the geopolitical landscape. McCully praised Brother’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility, highlighting that the company invests meaningfully in projects rather than just discussing them.
He expressed his admiration for Brother as a reputable Japanese company dedicated to international citizenship and social contributions, particularly noting the allocation of 10% of after-tax profits for community support. McCully also appreciated Brother’s leadership in environmental initiatives, including a four-year buyback program, and concluded by acknowledging the fruitful partnership and strong relationships established in Fiji.
