Brother International (NZ) Ltd has named Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its new official distributor for Fiji after over two decades of investment in the Fijian market. This strategic decision aims to enhance Brother’s product offerings and foster growth in the business-to-business sector by collaborating with a distributor that understands the needs of the local market.
Pacific Brothers has significant experience in the printing industry and emphasizes customer service and support. They will offer 24/7 assistance to customers across Fiji, striving for high levels of customer satisfaction with an 80% remote issue resolution rate. Additionally, the company plans to allocate 10% of its profits toward initiatives focused on alleviating child poverty and enhancing education.
Brother and Pacific Brothers are also working on creating a nationwide network of local Technical Service Providers, ensuring that Brother customers receive optimal support with their products.
Former Brother International (NZ) Ltd Executive Chairman Graham Walshe emphasized the commitment to financial sustainability, aiming for positive cash flow and retained earnings within Fiji and the Pacific. He stressed the importance of governance and accountability, expressing a desire to positively impact the local community by rewarding partners and facilitating sales service and technical support through Pacific Brothers.
Walshe clarified that purchases of Brother products will be made through a network of local partners rather than directly through Pacific Brothers, highlighting Fiji’s role as a sales and support center for the Pacific, which will create jobs and establish a center of excellence.
Sustainability remains a key focus, with Brother and Pacific Brothers committed to expanding recycling initiatives and funding local sustainability and corporate social responsibility projects.
Murray McCully, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade for New Zealand and now Director of Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD, remarked on the necessity of having a strong hub in Fiji for the success of the Pacific region. He acknowledged Brother’s proactive approach to environmental and social responsibility and commended their commitment to investing in projects that have a tangible impact on communities.
McCully highlighted Brother as a well-established Japanese company with significant global influence, praising their dedication to corporate responsibility by reinvesting 10% of after-tax profits into the community. He expressed gratitude for the partnership with Brother and the positive relationships fostered in Fiji.
