Brother International (NZ) Ltd has appointed Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its new official distributor for Fiji, marking a significant development after over two decades of investment in the Fijian market. This partnership aims to broaden Brother’s product offerings and stimulate growth in the business-to-business sector by leveraging local market understanding.

Pacific Brothers boasts substantial experience in the print industry and prioritizes customer service, including the implementation of 24/7 support across Fiji, achieving an 80% remote issue resolution rate. The company is also committed to investing 10% of its profits in initiatives aimed at alleviating child poverty and enhancing education.

Brother and Pacific Brothers are focused on establishing a nationwide network of local Technical Service Providers to improve the customer experience for Brother products.

Graham Walshe, former Executive Chairman of Brother International (NZ) Ltd, emphasized the aim of fostering financial sustainability through positive cash flow and retained earnings in the region. He stated the company’s commitment to governance, accountability, and contributing to the community.|

Mr. Walshe highlighted that Pacific Brothers operates a Channel model with over ten local partners through which customers can purchase Brother products, reinforcing that they will not sell directly to end users. He envisions Fiji as a central sales and support hub for the Pacific, contributing to job creation and excellence in service.

Sustainability is a critical focus, as Brother and Pacific Brothers work to expand recycling programs and fund local corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Murray McCully, former New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and now a director at Pacific Brothers Distributor, stressed that for the Pacific to thrive, it requires Fiji as its hub. He acknowledged the geopolitical significance of a robust Pacific economy and praised Brother’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility, noting that the company actively invests in meaningful projects.

McCully commended Brother’s dedication to sustainability, including a buyback scheme, and expressed appreciation for the partnership and the strong relationships fostered in Fiji.
