Brother International Expands Fiji Footprint with New Distributor Partnership

After more than two decades of investment in Fiji, Brother International (NZ) Ltd has made a significant decision to appoint Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its new official distributor for the region. This strategic partnership is designed to broaden Brother’s product offerings and enhance growth, particularly within the business-to-business sector, by collaborating with a distributor that has an in-depth understanding of the local market.

Pacific Brothers has a wealth of experience in the print industry and emphasizes strong customer service and support. They will provide around-the-clock support for users throughout Fiji, prioritizing customer satisfaction and resolving 80% of issues remotely.

In a commitment to social responsibility, the company intends to allocate 10% of its profits towards child poverty alleviation and education initiatives. Brother and Pacific Brothers are also focused on establishing a nationwide network of local Technical Service Providers to ensure that customers receive exceptional service with their products.

Former Executive Chairman of Brother International (NZ) Ltd, Graham Walshe, highlighted the company’s goal of achieving financial sustainability through positive cash flow and retained earnings in Fiji and the Pacific. He emphasized the importance of governance, accountability, and contributing to the local community.

Walshe also mentioned that the Pacific Brothers Distributor operates a channel model with over ten local partners that sell Brother products. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment not to sell directly to end users and stated that Fiji would serve as a sales and support hub for the Pacific region, creating job opportunities and establishing a center of excellence.

Sustainability is another key focus for Brother and Pacific Brothers, who are expanding recycling initiatives and committing resources to support local sustainability and corporate social responsibility projects.

Murray McCully, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade for the New Zealand Government and now a director at Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD, emphasized the vital role of Fiji as a hub for the Pacific’s success. He stated that a robust Pacific economy is essential for New Zealand, highlighting the necessity of a strong Pacific hub.

McCully expressed admiration for Brother’s commitment to environmental and social responsibility, noting that while many companies merely discuss such issues, Brother actively invests in practical initiatives. He praised the company’s international presence, culture, and values, as well as the decision to reinvest 10% of after-tax profits to aid the community.

He concluded by appreciating the partnership and the warm relationships developed in Fiji.
