Brother International Appoints New Distributor to Boost Fiji’s Business Landscape

Brother International (NZ) Ltd has appointed Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD as its official distributor in Fiji, marking over 20 years of investment in the Fijian market. This partnership aims to expand Brother’s product offerings and enhance growth in the business-to-business segment by leveraging Pacific Brothers’ deep understanding of the local market.

Pacific Brothers boasts significant experience in the print industry and prioritizes customer service. The distributor will introduce 24/7 support across Fiji, with an impressive 80% of issues resolved remotely. Additionally, the company has committed to investing 10% of its profits towards child poverty alleviation and education initiatives.

Together, Brother and Pacific Brothers are dedicated to developing a nationwide network of local Technical Service Providers to enhance customer experiences with Brother products.

Former Executive Chairman of Brother International (NZ) Ltd, Graham Walshe, emphasized the company’s desire for financial sustainability through positive cash flow and retained earnings in Fiji and the Pacific. He expressed the importance of high governance and accountability while reinforcing the goal to be an integral part of the local community, where they aim to reward partners and provide comprehensive sales and technical support.

Walshe clarified that customers would purchase Brother products through local partners rather than directly through Pacific Brothers, reinforcing the channel model they are adopting. He also noted that Fiji is set to become a central sales and support hub for the Pacific region, creating jobs and fostering a center of excellence.

Sustainability remains a key priority, with both Brother and Pacific Brothers expanding recycling initiatives and dedicating funds for local sustainability and corporate social responsibility projects.

Murray McCully, former New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and now Director of Pacific Brothers Distributor Pte LTD, highlighted the importance of Fiji as a hub for success throughout the Pacific. He emphasized that a strong economy in the Pacific is crucial for both regional and New Zealand interests.

Appreciating Brother’s practical approach to environmental and social responsibilities, McCully noted the company’s commitment to real projects rather than just promises. He praised Brother as a reputable Japanese company with a global presence and a commitment to making a positive impact as an international citizen. He was particularly impressed by the commitment to reinvest 10% of after-tax profits into the local community and commended the company’s leadership in environmental sustainability, including a four-year buyback program. McCully expressed gratitude for the partnership and the genuine relationships developed in Fiji.
