Former Flying Fijians and Bristol Bears centre Kalaveti Ravouvou showcased his remarkable talent by scoring two tries in a decisive 54-24 victory over Leicester at Welford Road. The Bears set a new club record by amassing 40 points in the first half, scoring six tries from their six entries into Leicester’s 22-meter zone.

In just his third premiership match this season, Ravouvou has already registered five tries, starting all three matches since Round 6. This performance leaves him just two tries behind his teammate Gabriel Ibitoye, who is currently the league’s top try scorer after Round 8.

The match saw the Bears crossing the try line eight times, while Leicester managed five tries. Notably, Ravouvou made a clever break in the 35th minute, initiating a swift counterattack that led to a score from Richard Lane, following a skillful offload from Ibitoye.

Ravouvou’s first try came in the 19th minute, contributing to the Bears’ significant lead of 40-12 at halftime. His second was a stunning solo effort, breaking free from his own 22-meter line to cross for what many consider the try of the season.

Bristol Bears head coach Pat Lam praised the team’s performance, particularly the exceptional first-half display, highlighting the confidence and skill shown by the players. He emphasized the importance of maintaining their performance as they prepare for a quick turnaround against Sale on Friday night.

This impressive win and Ravouvou’s outstanding contribution not only bolster the team’s standings but also instill a sense of optimism among fans as they look forward to the upcoming matches. The Bears are clearly on an upward trajectory, and with players like Ravouvou leading the charge, their potential for success is promising.
