The Health and Medical Services Ministry has recently implemented a significant outreach initiative in Cakova Village, Moala, aimed at enhancing healthcare access for residents, particularly those living in maritime areas. The program, which was spearheaded by Dr. Fifita Niulevu, provided a variety of essential services including medical consultations, health check-ups, dental care, and HIV/AIDS awareness education.

A public health team from Lakeba was also present to share vital information regarding HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, treatment options, and the critical nature of early diagnosis, while actively working to reduce stigma associated with the disease. This outreach initiative addresses healthcare disparities in isolated communities, offering not only direct medical services but also health education focused on hygiene, wellness, and dental care.

The Ministry is dedicated to ensuring that healthcare services reach Fiji’s maritime regions and has committed to continuing its visits to other villages in Moala.

This outreach program reflects a proactive approach in tackling healthcare challenges faced by remote communities, showcasing the Ministry’s commitment to improving the overall health of Fijians. Such efforts not only provide immediate care but also empower communities through education and awareness, paving the way for a healthier future.

In summary, this outreach is a vital step towards bridging healthcare gaps and fostering a culture of health awareness, ultimately contributing to the well-being of those in harder-to-reach areas. The continued dedication to these initiatives holds promise for a brighter, healthier future in Fiji’s maritime regions.
