The Health and Medical Services Ministry has recently carried out a vital outreach initiative in Cakova Village, Moala, aimed at enhancing healthcare access for Fijians, particularly those residing in maritime islands.

This initiative provided a range of essential services, including medical consultations, health check-ups, dental care, and education on HIV/AIDS awareness. Dr. Fifita Niulevu led the program, which sought to deliver critical healthcare resources directly to the community.

A dedicated public health team from Lakeba was instrumental in this effort, offering insights into HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, and treatment, while emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and efforts to diminish stigma surrounding the disease.

The outreach program’s goal was to address healthcare disparities in remote areas by providing not only medical services but also crucial health education on hygiene, dental care, and overall wellness.

The Ministry is committed to continuing these outreach efforts throughout Fiji’s maritime regions and plans to visit additional villages in Moala, reflecting its dedication to improving healthcare accessibility.

This initiative not only represents a significant step forward in public health but also showcases a laudable commitment to ensuring that even the most remote communities have access to essential healthcare services. It demonstrates a proactive approach to addressing healthcare needs and fostering a healthier future for all Fijians.
