His story comes at a critical time, as the nation reports a concerning increase in HIV cases, with 552 new infections documented by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services during the first half of 2024. During this same timeframe, there were 13 fatalities linked to HIV-related illnesses, in stark contrast to 82 deaths recorded in 2023.
At just 23 years old, Mr. Lal has turned a potentially despairing situation into a powerful advocacy platform.
