Her comments came after she and 37 other officers from the Northern Division were awarded Long Service and Good Conduct medals during a ceremony at the Labasa Civic Centre, presented by Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew.

With a commendable 20-year career in the Fiji Police Force, PC Sadamma has worked at various stations, including Totogo Police Station in Suva and Lautoka Police Station. Reflecting on her journey, she acknowledged the challenges of initially working in a male-dominated environment, stating, “It wasn’t easy at first, but the support from my family and understanding superiors allowed me to fulfill my duties effectively.”

Currently serving in the Sexual Offence Unit, she focuses on sensitive cases mostly involving children and women—a role she finds deeply rewarding. “I chose to become a Policewoman because I wanted to help others, especially women and children,” she expressed, underscoring her dedication to supporting vulnerable communities.

In her speech, PC Sadamma encouraged young women aspiring to join the Fiji Police Force, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and hard work. “Nothing comes easy in life; everyone must either work hard or smart to have a fulfilling career,” she advised, sharing that her journey proves the feasibility of juggling multiple roles successfully.
