Tevita Loga, a 56-year-old entrepreneur, has expressed his commitment to improving local business through community partnerships. He operates a bakery called Three T’s located in Naruwai, Dama, Bua. The bakery has seen growth in the past month since it began operation after a recent community initiative aimed at enhancing local business practices.
The bakery has quickly gained popularity among residents, particularly in the Dama region of Bua. Loga emphasizes the importance of providing fresh baked goods to the community, which is relatively far from coastal areas, making access to bread and bakery products more challenging for locals.
Currently, around 130 families from the nearby village are benefiting from the bakery, which allows them to purchase goods without having to travel long distances, as they previously did to places such as Labasa or Nabouwalu.
Loga noted that in recent weeks, sales have improved as local residents embrace the new bakery offerings, which include items like cream buns, cheese buns, pizzas, coconut rolls, and cupcakes. This initiative not only supports local families but also fosters entrepreneurship in the village.
Over the past three weeks, the bakery has seen increasing demand, demonstrating the potential for local businesses to thrive with community support. Loga aims to continue expanding the bakery’s offerings and encourage more locals to consider entrepreneurship as a viable option for economic growth.
Local government has expressed interest in supporting small businesses like Loga’s bakery, recognizing the positive impact they can have on community development and job creation. Overall, the success of Three T’s Bakery illustrates the power of community collaboration in fostering local economic development and ensuring access to needed goods.
