Tevita Loga, a 56-year-old entrepreneur from Naruwai, Dama, Bua, is showcasing innovation in the local business landscape with his bakery, aptly named Three T’s. This month marks the first month of operation for his bakery, following the establishment of a community partnership to enhance local development. Loga noted that the business has gained significant interest, successfully serving residents from the surrounding villages in the Dama area of Bua.

With a focus on creating job opportunities, Loga and his team have been working diligently to develop the bakery as a means to support the local community. He stated, “Our bakery is a step forward for the Dama region, serving a sizable population in neighboring villages while maintaining our dedication to quality.”

The need for such a business arose due to the geographical challenges faced by residents in obtaining fresh baked goods, which are often difficult to acquire as they live far from the coast. Loga emphasized that there is a considerable demand for baked items in the area, particularly among around 130 households in the vicinity, making the establishment of a local bakery a vital service.

In the past three weeks, the bakery’s operations have shown promising progress, with community members regularly purchasing a variety of products such as cream buns, cheese buns, pizza, coconut rolls, and cakes. The bakery serves customers from various nearby areas, reflecting its growing appeal.

Loga expressed confidence in the business’s potential, noting that the bakery could contribute significantly to the local economy and employment opportunities for residents who have been underemployed or unemployed. He advocated for local youth to focus on leveraging such opportunities and working collectively to uplift their community.

As the bakery continues to thrive, Loga highlighted the ongoing support from the government, which has facilitated the growth of small businesses within the community. He encourages villagers to adopt a proactive approach towards entrepreneurship to secure a stable and prosperous future.
