Authorities are looking into a burglary that took place at the official home of the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) in Nasese. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that the break-in happened on September 29, despite the property being well-fenced and monitored by FCS staff. As of now, no arrests have been made.

According to FCS Commissioner Jalesi Nakarawa, a room in the residence was ransacked, and valuable traditional artefacts, including a whale’s tooth (tabua), were taken during the incident. Fortunately, Mr. Nakarawa stated that no individuals were injured in the break-in.
