A violent altercation outside a popular nightclub in Suva has resulted in six individuals requiring hospitalization, with two currently in a critical, unconscious state. According to police reports, these two victims are being treated at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, along with a third individual who is said to be stable. Additionally, three others have been admitted to the Sigatoka Hospital, where they are reportedly in stable condition.

Preliminary investigations suggest that some participants in the brawl may belong to a Rugby League club from Sigatoka, which held its awards ceremony in Suva just before the incident.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, stated that the Central Division police are actively investigating the matter and are in the process of apprehending those involved in the disturbance.

This incident raises concerns about safety in nightlife areas and the potential for sports-related events to escalate into violence. However, the prompt response from law enforcement indicates a commitment to addressing such issues and ensuring community safety. As investigations proceed, it is hoped that the affected individuals will receive the support they need for a swift recovery.
