The Fiji Muslim League (FML) has announced that the final rites for the late boxer Ubayd Haider will take place tomorrow at 8:30 PM at the Raralevu cemetery.
FML shared the news, stating, “The Janaza of Br Ubayd Hayder will be held on Tue 12th Nov at 8.30pm @ Raralevu Muslim cemetery, Nausori.”
Haider, who previously fought under the name Nathan Singh, tragically lost by TKO to Australian fighter Runqi Zhou in an IBO Asia Pacific Super Featherweight title match on October 26. Following the fight, the 25-year-old collapsed and was transported to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where he remained until his death yesterday.
In a time of grief, the boxing community and fans will remember Haider’s contributions to the sport and celebrate his journey as a fighter. His legacy may inspire future athletes to pursue their dreams with passion and determination.
This article serves as a reminder of the risks associated with competitive sports and highlights the importance of support systems for athletes.
