Boxer Sebastian “Sniper” Singh is mourning the loss of his brother, Ubayd Haider, who passed away following a recent match. Haider, who was known as Nathan Singh, suffered defeat by TKO during his fight for the IBO Asia Pacific Super Featherweight title against Runqi Zhou on October 26. Tragically, he collapsed immediately after the match and was rushed to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where he remained until his untimely death.
In an emotional tribute, Singh expressed his deep sorrow, stating, “Isa my bro, you really broke my heart. I wish it was me instead.” He added a heartfelt message in Fijian, saying: “You will forever be in my heart. Your legacy will live on. Love you my bro.”
The family is arranging for Mr. Haider’s body to be viewed at the FMF Gymnasium on November 12 from 3 PM to 5 PM, with final rites scheduled to take place later that evening at Raralevu cemetery.
While this news is heartbreaking for the boxing community and the Singh family, it serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing loved ones. The outpouring of love and remembrance for Ubayd Haider highlights the lasting impact he had on those around him.
