Two leading Australian boxers are set to participate in a South Pacific Boxing Promotions event on October 26 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. Promoter Fred Chand confirmed this after the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) sanctioned the fights.

In the main event, IBO Asia Pacific and Fiji super welterweight champion Winston Hill will go head-to-head with the powerful Lachlan O’Shea. O’Shea is known for his previous title as the Queensland champion from the Australian National Boxing Federation and has given Australian welterweight champion Joel Taylor a tough challenge in the past.

Chand expressed excitement, stating, “Both the IBO title fights will involve world-class boxers.”

Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh, a local fighter aiming to enhance his world ranking, will compete in another prominent match. Singh, who currently holds the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific cruiserweight title, will face unbeaten Sydney-based ‘King’ Tonga Tongotongo for the vacant IBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight title. “To be the best in the world, you’ve got to fight the best. We’re grateful to Sebastian for taking this opportunity,” Chand added.

Tongotongo remains undefeated with eight wins in his professional career, according to Box Rec. Chand mentioned that they are finalizing the undercard fights and will provide an official announcement once sanctioned by the Boxing Commission of Fiji.

Additionally, SPBP director Mohammed Shameem has indicated plans to invite well-known Australian ring announcer Steve Peios and a professional boxing referee for the event.
