A thrilling evening of boxing is anticipated at the Vodafone Arena in Suva this Saturday as Blue Water Boxing Promotions gears up for its latest event. Promoter Samir Khan is optimistic about a significant turnout, similar to March’s event, which attracted a remarkable crowd of 5,600 spectators.
Khan has reported that the corporate tables, priced at $1,500 for a table of ten and inclusive of food, beer, kava, and water, are completely sold out. The demand for VIP chairs at $50 is also high, with limited availability remaining, while the $25 pavilion seats are selling at a brisk pace.
This event promises to be a spectacular showcase, featuring three title fights headlined by Mohammed Ali going against Mikaele Ravalaca for the Lightweight title at 61 kg. Other notable matchups include Paulo Ratumaikoro defending his Cruiserweight title against Alivereti Kauyaca, and Joseph Kwadjo facing Robin Hazelman in another Cruiserweight bout. Additionally, fans can look forward to Semi Dauloloma competing against Jonasa Kavika for the Heavyweight Leweni Waqa Title.
In preparation for the fights, an official weigh-in is scheduled to take place on Friday at Suva’s Terry Walk. Khan has emphasized the importance of safety by confirming that all necessary medical checks and drug tests have been conducted on the participants. An ambulance and medical personnel will also be present on fight night to ensure the well-being of all athletes involved.
The growing enthusiasm for boxing in Fiji is evident, with Khan highlighting increased interest both locally and from international fans eager to attend. Such events not only serve as a platform for established fighters but also provide valuable exposure and opportunities for emerging talents.
As anticipation builds for an exciting night of competition, the event stands to further enhance the vibrant boxing culture within the Fijian community, fostering local pride and support for the athletes. The community is invited to partake in an evening filled with fierce rivalry, camaraderie, and the spirit of sportsmanship that characterizes the sport of boxing.
