Two prominent Australian boxers will participate in the South Pacific Boxing Promotions event scheduled for October 26 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. This announcement was made by SPBP promoter Fred Chand after receiving approval from the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) for the bouts.

In the headline match, IBO Asia Pacific and Fiji super welterweight champion Winston Hill will take on the powerful Lachlan O’Shea. O’Shea, who previously held the Queensland title from the Australian National Boxing Federation, recently pushed Australia welterweight champion Joel Taylor to the limits in a competitive fight.

“Both IBO title matches will feature world-class fighters,” Chand stated.

Additionally, local boxer Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh sees a significant opportunity to enhance his world rankings. Singh, the current holder of the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific cruiserweight title, will face unbeaten Sydney fighter ‘King’ Tonga Tongotongo for the vacant IBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight title.

“To be the best in the world, you’ve got to fight the best. We’re grateful to Sebastian for taking this opportunity,” Chand noted.

According to Box Rec, Tongotonga has won all eight of his professional bouts. Chand mentioned that they are finalizing the undercard and will issue an official statement once it receives the Boxing Commission of Fiji’s approval.

Furthermore, SPBP director Mohammed Shameem confirmed his goal to bring renowned Australian ring announcer Steve Peios and a professional boxing referee to the event.
