Three prominent Australian boxing trainers are bringing their fighters to the South Pacific Boxing Promotions event scheduled for Saturday, October 26, at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. This announcement was made by IBO (International Boxing Organisation) Fight Commissioner Justin Kennedy.

Trainer Stephen Ng from Matrix Boxing is preparing Lachlan O’Shea, who will compete against Winston Hill for the IBO Asia Pacific super welterweight title in the main event.

Also making the trip is knockout specialist Tonga Tongotongo, accompanied by his trainer Stephen Pasras, who is the founder and head of Black Diamond Boxing and Fitness Centre. Tongotongo, who has achieved eight knockouts in his professional career, will face local fighter Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh in a 10-round bout for the IBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight title.

Additionally, China’s Runqi Zhou, now based in Australia, is being trained by the well-respected Angelo Hyder. Zhou will take on the skilled Umbayd Haider for the IBO Oceania-Orient featherweight title in another 10-round match.

“It promises to be an exciting fight since Haider once trained under Hyder,” Kennedy noted. Hyder has previously coached notable Australian boxers like Danny Green, Vic Darchinyan, and Andrew Moloney, all of whom won world titles in their weight classes.

Kennedy confirmed that all IBO title fights have been sanctioned. He stated that SPBP director Mohammed Shameem has ensured that the sanctioning fees, as well as the travel and accommodation costs for the boxers, trainers, and officials, have been covered.
