A 45-year-old man faces murder charges following the tragic death of a farmer at the Batinivuriwai Settlement in Wainunu, Bua. The incident unfolded on Boxing Day, as the victim reportedly became embroiled in a brawl near a bus shelter within the settlement. After the altercation, he was discovered lying by the roadside, suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
Emergency services quickly transported the victim to the Wainunu Health Centre; however, he was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival. In connection with this incident, the accused has been formally charged with murder and is slated to appear before the Savusavu Magistrates Court today.
