The Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) is dedicated to providing all boxers with equal opportunities to compete in bouts, a commitment highlighted by BCF chairman Adi Narayan during the recent launch of the Bluewater Boxing Promotion at the Holiday Inn in Suva.

Narayan emphasized the commission’s impartiality, stating that the number of fights a boxer has participated in will not hinder their chance to compete. He affirmed that the commission would allow boxers to challenge one another, regardless of their fight records. “If you want to fight, we will give you a chance; prove yourself because it’s a contest, it’s not a championship fight,” he stated.

Looking ahead, Narayan mentioned that boxer Robin Hazelman is set to challenge cruiserweight title holder Alivereti Kauyaca, provided he successfully defeats Joseph Kwadjo in an upcoming bout. “Give him a chance, he might knock him (Kwadjo) out, and we’ll see what happens in the Bluewater boxing promotions on February 22,” Narayan added, generating excitement for the anticipated event at the Vodafone Arena, which will feature a total of 15 matches.

By allowing boxers of varying experience levels to compete, the BCF fosters a fair and inclusive environment that encourages emerging talent while enhancing the overall vigor of boxing in Fiji.

This approach not only promotes healthy competition but also opens doors for new talent to make their mark in the sport. As boxing fans await the upcoming fights, there’s a sense of hope that fresh contenders will emerge, potentially enriching the boxing landscape in Fiji.
