The anticipated boxing match between Ubayd Haider and Mikaele Ravalaca is set for February 22, 2025. This announcement comes from Haider’s manager, Alan Kumar, who is currently negotiating with Ravalaca’s manager, Gus Wahab, based in Australia. Kumar is reviving the Bula Boxing Promotions and has confirmed the first event for February 22.

“I received confirmation from the Boxing Commission of Fiji for February 22, 2025, and I reached out to Mikaele Ravalaca’s manager Gus Wahab. He is a decent person, and our discussions about making this fight happen for the audience have been very positive,” Kumar stated.

While both parties are committed to the fight, the specifics of the financial arrangement are still being finalized. “So far, there’s a good outlook, and we’re just working on the purse. We offered around $5,000, which has not been accepted yet. We hope to reach an agreement by Friday and sign the contract next week,” Kumar explained.

As the promoter for Bula Boxing, Kumar emphasized that the match will proceed exclusively under his promotion. “I am the one who can bring this fight to life because I manage Ubayd Haider, and he will follow my direction. We’re not avoiding anyone; we have a full schedule this year. We want to ensure this fight is a spectacle for the fans. To our supporters, I apologize for the wait, but we have fights already lined up. Haider is preparing for an IBO title fight on October 26 in Nadi against an Australian opponent. This is a crucial step for us, and we are planning carefully for the event on February 22,” he said.

The fight will take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
