The directors of the Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) were investigating a brawl that occurred during the heavyweight title fight at the Bluewater Boxing Promotion event on Saturday night at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. The inquiry was prompted by a directive from Jese Saukuru, the Minister for Youth and Sports, who requested that the Commission announce its findings regarding those involved in the incident by today.

Saukuru expressed his concerns about the situation, highlighting that such events should not be commonplace in professional boxing. He noted, “Boxing is a sport. People are trying to exercise their power, but I have asked them to investigate.” The Minister added that based on video footage, the fighter Dauloloma appeared to be performing well in the match before the altercation escalated.

BCF chairman Adi Narayan confirmed that a press conference is scheduled to take place in Suva this morning.
