The Boston Basketball Club has successfully advanced to the men’s semi-finals of the Vodafone Fiji Cup basketball competition. This achievement follows their decisive victory against the Mighty Sharks (60-10) and a competitive win over the Lights Out team (47-34) at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva.

Coach Eddy Waqairawai expressed immense pride in his team’s strong performance, crediting their exceptional defense and teamwork as the cornerstones of their success. “I’m really proud of the boys; they displayed teamwork and defense on the court, which earned us these wins,” he stated. Waqairawai also emphasized the role of sports in steering young players away from negative influences, advocating for discipline and a focus on positive paths.

Despite competing against skilled teams, the Boston players demonstrated determination and grit, particularly in their match against Lights Out. Looking ahead, Coach Waqairawai highlighted the need for the team to refine their skills and cohesion before facing their next opponents in the semi-final round. “We still have a lot of work ahead of us. We need to stay focused and prepare thoroughly for the semi-final,” he remarked.
