George Bose is making his mark in the world of rugby, driven by his determination to overcome adversity. Recently, Bose was training with the Fiji Airways men’s sevens squad at the High-Performance Unit gym in Suva. This isn’t his first experience with the team; he was previously part of the squad under former coach Ben Gollings last season.
Bose has faced numerous challenges on his journey but remains steadfast in his pursuit of success. With a resilient mindset, he emphasizes the importance of perseverance, stating, “It isn’t easy, especially making it into camp, but it’s all about continuing to persevere and keep on going.” He noted the adjustments he needed to make in his training regimen, particularly in finding the pace of play that distinguishes sevens rugby from his previous club experiences.
Hopeful for an international contract, Bose credits the unwavering support from his family as a crucial motivator. His talent was recently highlighted when he played for the BLK Lavidi team in the Fiji Bitter Kadavu 7s, catching the attention of Fiji 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau, who invited him to join the training camp shortly after.
Bose’s journey reflects the spirit of determination and growth in sports, serving as an inspiration to athletes facing similar challenges. His story is a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of community support in achieving one’s goals.
