Torika Boseiwaqa from Ba achieved an impressive victory by winning the gold medal in the girls under-12 long jump event at the Tuckers Ice-Cream Fiji Primary Schools Athletics Championships held last Friday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Following her remarkable performance, Boseiwaqa shared her excitement and reflected on her hard work during training that led to her success. “I am very happy to have won the gold medal. We have always been training very hard so that I could win the gold medal,” she affirmed. The young athlete also expressed gratitude towards her parents for their unwavering support throughout her journey.
Boseiwaqa’s outstanding achievement contributed to Ba’s dominance in the girls’ division, where the school secured a total of seven medals—two gold, two silver, and three bronze. In contrast, the boys were able to win one gold and one silver.
In addition to athletics, Boseiwaqa engages in soccer as part of the Ba girls’ team, which is set to compete in the Primary Schools Inter-District Competition in Labasa in October.
