The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) is creating a system to streamline tax obligations for micro and small enterprises. FRCS Chief Executive Officer Udit Singh stated that this initiative will involve reaching out to communities to provide training for small community shops and other SMEs. Singh noted that many enterprises are currently not eligible for tax due to not meeting the required threshold. Over one hundred thousand micro and small enterprises are currently registered with the FRCS. Director of Taxation Momina Beg mentioned that the initiative will target 18 different sectors.
