The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) is creating a system to simplify tax obligations for micro and small enterprises. FRCS Chief Executive Officer Udit Singh mentioned that this initiative will involve community outreach and training sessions for small community shops and other small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Singh noted that many enterprises don’t qualify for tax due to not meeting the required threshold. Currently, over one hundred thousand micro and small enterprises are registered with the FRCS. Director of Taxation, Momina Beg, stated that this effort will target 18 different sectors.
