After a challenging start to their National Club Championship (NCC) campaign, Nadi’s Blues FC made a strong comeback with an impressive 4-0 victory against Fiends United FC in Suva. The match took place at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Vatuwaqa, and the team showcased their resilience following a disappointing opening loss.

Interim coach Gurdeep Singh expressed his delight at the team’s performance, stating, “The boys are happy. The morale is high.” He noted that the previous day’s loss served as a wake-up call for the players, prompting them to reflect on their mistakes and return to the field with renewed vigor. “We’re really pleased with the result,” Singh added, highlighting their evolution throughout the tournament.

Despite the challenging journey from Nadi to Suva, the team demonstrated impressive character and determination, even overcoming issues related to fatigue and fitness. Although Singh mentioned that fitness remains a concern, he emphasized their commitment to improvement.

With aspirations to win the NCC, Singh acknowledged the importance of refining their gameplay, specifically in terms of converting opportunities and maintaining discipline. He conveyed confidence in his team, stating, “We have a good set of boys, including district reps. We’re determined to make this trip worthwhile and bring home the win.”

Other matches from the tournament saw Northpole FC triumph over Flying Arrows FC 2-0, Buiduna FC narrowly defeating Rivals FC 1-0, and Downtown FC edging out Nakasi Police FC 2-1.

This victory bodes well for Blues FC as they refocus their efforts for the remainder of the tournament. If they can sustain this momentum, they have a real chance at claiming the title.

In summary, Nadi’s Blues FC rebounded from an initial loss to achieve a decisive win, showcasing their determination and potential for success in the ongoing championship. Coach Singh’s positive attitude and focus on improvement are essential as the team aims for greater accomplishments ahead.
