Preston North End forward Milutin Osmajic has been charged with biting Blackburn Rovers defender Owen Beck on the neck during a recent Championship match, according to the Football Association (FA). The incident took place on Sunday when the players were involved in a clash following Beck’s red card for a foul on Preston’s Duane Holmes in the late stages of the game, which ended in a goalless draw.
After Beck’s dismissal, tensions escalated between the two teams, and Osmajic was seen approaching Beck’s neck, resulting in a yellow card for the 25-year-old. The FA stated that Osmajic is accused of committing an act of violent conduct by allegedly biting Beck around the 87th minute of the match. He has been given until Monday to respond to the charge.
This incident brings to mind a similar case from 2013 when Luis Suarez was banned for 10 matches after biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic while playing for Liverpool.
