Fijian cruiserweight boxing champion Alivereti Kauyaca has been offered the biggest fight of his career, set for September against New Zealand cruiserweight champion John Parker.
Parker is the younger brother of Joseph Parker, currently ranked the fourth-best heavyweight in the world.
Kauyaca and Parker will compete for the WBO Oceania cruiserweight title in Hamilton, New Zealand, on September 7.
Kauyaca’s trainer and manager, Farmaan Ali, expressed excitement about the opportunity and stated they are preparing diligently for the fight.
“Fighting John is a great opportunity for us,” Ali said. “The Parker brand is highly recognized worldwide, so we need to prepare well to match him.”
Promoter Craig Thomson confirmed the September fight and noted it would be a significant opportunity for the Fijian champion.
