Big Fights Ahead: Australian Boxers Set to Clash in Nadi!

Two prominent Australian boxers are set to participate in the South Pacific Boxing Promotions event on October 26 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi. The announcement was made by SPBP promoter Fred Chand, following the International Boxing Organisation’s (IBO) approval of the matchups.

In the featured bout, IBO Asia Pacific and Fiji super welterweight champion Winston Hill will compete against the powerful Lachlan O’Shea. O’Shea, the former Queensland titleholder from the Australia National Boxing Federation, previously pushed Australian welterweight champion Joel Taylor to the limit.

Chand remarked, “Both IBO title fights will showcase world-class boxers.”

In another highlight of the event, local fighter Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh will seek to enhance his global rankings. Singh currently holds the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific cruiserweight title. He is set to challenge unbeaten Sydney-based fighter ‘King’ Tonga Tongotongo for the vacant IBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight title.

“To be the best in the world, you’ve got to fight the best. We’re grateful to Sebastian for seizing this opportunity,” Chand stated.

According to Box Rec, Tongotonga boasts a perfect record, having won all eight of his professional bouts.

Chand mentioned that they are finalizing the undercard and will release an official update once it receives approval from the Boxing Commission of Fiji. Additionally, SPBP director Mohammed Shameem shared his plans to bring over esteemed Australian ring announcer Steve Peios along with a professional boxing referee.
