Rumors of a potential romance between Ben Affleck and Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy emerged over the weekend, but a representative for the Oscar-winning actor has dismissed these claims. Jen Allen, Affleck’s spokesperson, stated, “The rumors are not true,” in a response to Fox News Digital.
Earlier reports from People magazine suggested that Affleck and Kennedy, who have allegedly been connected since spring, have been “spending time together.” An insider noted that Kennedy has long had an affection for the actor.
Kennedy has been previously linked to Harper Simon, the son of musician Paul Simon, and the late billionaire Matthew Mellon. While Affleck is currently going through a divorce from Jennifer Lopez, he appears to be in good spirits. A recent photo captured him smiling as he picked up food delivery at his rental home in Los Angeles, a notable change from his usual demeanor in paparazzi shots.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Court, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their breakup. The singer indicated their date of separation was April 26 and requested that neither party receive spousal support, according to court documents. The divorce filing coincided with the two-year anniversary of their wedding ceremony in Georgia.
Affleck and Lopez, who became engaged in 2002 after meeting on the set of “Gigli,” were set to wed in 2004 but called off the ceremony at the last minute. Two decades later, they surprised fans with a wedding in Las Vegas.
Rumors about their separation gained traction earlier this year when they were spotted apart for 47 days. Speculation intensified when Affleck did not attend Lopez’s lavish “Bridgerton”-themed birthday party on July 2.
In the documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Affleck reflected on the public scrutiny that surrounded their initial relationship in the early 2000s.
