Rumors suggesting a romantic relationship between Ben Affleck and Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy emerged over the weekend, but a representative for the Academy Award-winning actor has dismissed these claims as untrue. Jen Allen, Affleck’s spokesperson, stated, “The rumors are not true,” when speaking to Fox News Digital.
Sources had previously informed People magazine that Affleck and Kennedy, who have reportedly been linked since early spring, had been “spending time together.” An insider mentioned that Kennedy has had a longstanding crush on the actor.
Kennedy, who is one of the children of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has been involved with notable figures in the past, including Harper Simon, son of Paul Simon, and the late billionaire Matthew Mellon.
Although Affleck is currently going through a divorce with Jennifer Lopez, he appears to be managing well. A recent photo captured him looking cheerful while receiving a food delivery outside his Los Angeles rental home.
Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday in Los Angeles County Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The singer indicated that their separation date was April 26 and requested that neither party should receive spousal support, as per court documents. Notably, Lopez filed for divorce on the two-year anniversary of their wedding ceremony in Georgia.
Affleck and Lopez were originally engaged in 2002 after meeting during the filming of “Gigli.” They were set to marry in 2004, but the wedding was called off last minute. The couple eventually married in Las Vegas two decades later in a surprise ceremony.
Speculation about their relationship began earlier this year, particularly when the couple was not seen together for 47 days. Concerns grew regarding the status of their marriage after Affleck’s absence from Lopez’s extravagant “Bridgerton”-themed 55th birthday celebration on July 2.
In a documentary titled “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Affleck was shown navigating the public attention that surrounded their romance during the early 2000s.
